Do I have to take out a WiFi subscription if I am a tenant?
In student residence
In student residences there are several options.
- WiFi is unlimited and common to the entire residence
- The internet subscription (box) is included in the rent or in addition
If wifi is not included: it's up to you to take out a subscription, but the internet can be free and unlimited in the common rooms.
As a general rule, the first two options are the majority with the services offered by the residences. For these two options, you don't have to take out a subscription or open a line.
With a private owner
In general, if you rent your accommodation through a private landlord, you will need to open a contract.
No need for a full subscription (Internet, TV, telephone): many operators offer Internet only contracts.
- Remember to check if your home has access to fiber
- If so, on the day of your installation appointment, you will surely need access to the cellars or the basement (to be checked with your landlord and / or the caretaker of the building)
- Before committing, be sure to get a free online quote to make your choice of operator according to your city, your budget and your needs
